Persistent Toggleable Effects Deactivate on entering portal area

Specifically when I am in my hideout and I enter the portal area. I move onto the platform to enter the portal and it toggles them all off and I can't toggle them back on even when I move off. When I enter the new area, I have to toggle everything back on. It's not consistent either, it's about 20% or 30% of the time.
