Fun experiment: Look through all these threads.

Look at how all of these threads have nothing but rejection from the community. Every single idea gets shut down. It's hilarious. Turn it into a drinking game! Actually I'm going to do that once I get home.

Yeah, I read Feedback and Suggestions a lot and there definitely is a bizarre amount of rejection by the community to almost any idea that gets posted there. Makes Reddit look good. I am surprised to see that even others' mundane QoL requests that would have little to no effect on others sometimes get just immense push-back. So weird.

Okay, lemme spell it out for you:

1) I make a thread in Feedback & Suggestions that says, "Hey, look at all these threads in this forum! Have you noticed this particular observation?"

2) Mod moves it to a different forum. My thread still says, "Hey, look at all these threads in this forum! Have you noticed this particular observation?" But now it's in a different forum, so the observation isn't relevant anymore.

3) I laugh at this interaction.

4) Some random guy comes in and says, "HOW IS THAT INTERACTION RELEVANT? FLKJGFDSKLGDFSGDFF."




I genuinely rank this community bottom 2. It might be bottom 1. Are you worse than DBD?????? That's REALLY hard to say... Clash of the Titans, on that one.

A long time ago I made a suggestion that we should be able to change the music in our hideouts to other Path of Exile songs. My thread had more than one post saying it was a stupid idea because they didn't want to join someone's hideout and hear Crazy Frog playing. I never said anything about allowing any music, just Path of Exile music. Not long after that GGG added the mtx to allow you to do just that, which I chalk up to it already being in the pipeline more than me actually having a good idea for once, and I'm sure I wasn't the first.

Anyway my point is, you are right. I still wouldn't change these forums for the world

But that doesn't have primacy.

If your post is specifically about the Feedback and Suggestions category then there's nothing stopping you from explicitly saying so in your post - but it still isn't feedback or a suggestion on the game, so it still doesn't belong in the forum category for such. I've literally been paid to work on a game's forum - and I can tell you that every company would've moved your thread in this way. When a forum thread is just, well, generally discussing the game or the community that plays the game, moving it to the General Discussion category shouldn't be in any way controversial.

The argument for moving it is to group forum threads by function so that different people can all find the threads that are relevant to their interests. The Community Managers aren't going to be discussing this thread with Game Designers and Producers with a view of making changes to the game, just as if your post had instead been talking about the number of people reporting the same bug, it would have been moved out of the Bug Reports category because it wouldn't be helping the Quality Assurance team to document bugs needing to be fixed in future updates.

Your apparent argument against the move consisting of you wanting to specifically talk about the Feedback and Suggestions category without mentioning it by name is not compelling. It just comes across as being arbitrary, and is not sufficient to override the concerns of other stakeholders.
